Somewhat unconventional grooming due to the prep for the race this Saturday (2/18/2012). West overlook, upper and lower snowman, canyon curves, 1st half of Pincushion Mountain, last 1/2 of north advanced. Basically, ski where it has been groomed and you’ll be ok. Skate lanes and classic tracks are looking good, be advised, there is still a fair bit of ice and tree debris mixed into the snow.

Trails open: All trails with exception of Amperage and Magnetic Rock Trail Comments: The Pisten Bulley went out with the renovater this mo ing. It did wonders to the base, chu ing and fluffing it laid a great track. Half the system was done this mo ing, we expect to do the other half tomorrow. There is ample snow here in the northwoods – we have not had the melting many have experienced in the Midwest. There is a chance of snow Wednesday evening and Thursday. Daytime temps remain moderate with evening temps keeping things well chilled. Total Snowfall since November 1 - 38.25 inches

Backcountry skiing. Minimal grooming. The ski area is located on a remote road with no homes or businesses for 24 miles and no cell service. Have plenty of gas, a vehicle that is in good operating condition, and be prepared with winter survival gear in the event of car trouble. Travel to the very end of the Sawbill Trail, walk over the snowbank, and you'll see the trail. It's old fashioned skiing at its best!
