Day Trips: Grand Marais

Grand Marais is the North Shore mecca for visual and performing arts. The Grand Marais Art Colony offers classes, exhibits and presents an Annual Art Festival in July. The North Shore Music Association brings live music of all genres to the area, and hosts an annual bluegrass festival in November. You’ll find talented local actors performing throughout the year at the Grand Marais Playhouse (schedule). The North House Folk School gives you a hands-on opportunity to learn traditional arts and also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year.
