"A Taste Of The Gunflint Trail"

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society and the Gunflint Trail Association are hosting a fundraiser for Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center on September 13, 1:00 - 5:00 PM. The Gunflint Trail Historical Society members are preparing wonderful taste treats from the Gunflint Trail Cookbook, and the film, "A Taste of the Gunflint Trail" premieres. Visitors are encouraged to drive from one participating lodge to the next; historians will be present at Clearwater, Nor'Wester, & Chik-Wauk lodges. The event is free, but donations will be accepted & membership information will be available. This is an opportunity to preview Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center. Split Rock Lighthouse Memorial Beacon Lighting
November 10, 2008 | Highway 61, between Two Harbors and Beaver Bay

Every year on Nov. 10, the navigational beacon is lit in memory of the 29 men lost aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald and all the other vessels lost on the Great Lakes. This is the only time visitors have the opportunity to see the inside of the light tower when the beacon is lit.
